- Install footbath at the entrance and exit of the quarantine area.

- Never borrow horse equipment from anyone.
- Wash and dry your hands after touching other horses.
- See the ailing of horses after returning from an event.
- Never allow your horse to drink water from the communal water trough.
- Never do direct contact with your horse with any other horse.
- Record the activities of your horses during the event.
Protect when horse transporting
- Ask horse transport services to clean manure out of the trailer at each stop and hose it out following each trip.
- See the temperature of the container and adjust according to the need of your horse. Don’t let your horses get exhausted in the truck.
- Provide adequate water before loading on the truck to avoid dehydration.
